For those of you who just can’t stand to be away from that backyard barbecue feeling during the long winter months or who live in a backyard-less apartment, I’m putting together these instructions on how to cook steak on the stove. I hope that this will help you put a little summer fun into your life.
You will need the following ingredients:
- 2 4oz filets
- 1 tbsp Extra Virgin Olive Oil
- 3 tbsp unsalted butter
- 1 clove garlic
- Salt & pepper to taste
Place the garlic, olive oil and butter in a 12-inch non-stick oven proof skillet on medium heat. Season the filets with salt and pepper. Once the butter has melted, place the filets in the pan and brown on each side about 7 minutes. Meanwhile, preheat the oven to 350 degrees with the oven rack in the lowest position. Once the filets are brown, cover the skillet and place in the oven for 20 minutes. Serve with a fresh green salad topped with balsamic vinaigrette and a side of steamed vegetables.
